Settle Stories are hosting an Animation Course for older people 55+. The course will take place in Settle at the Friends Meeting House beginning on Wed 8th May for 9 consecutive weeks.
The course will be facilitated by Virpi Kettu, one of the animators behind Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep and Radiohead’s latest music video.
Settle Stories has now run several animation courses offering individuals and groups the opportunity to share their own stories. The results of these programmes have been astonishing. People have engaged with the arts for the first time again often since school, we have had astonishingly high retention rates, people have found the courses cathartic and enjoyed creating an end product that can be shared with friends and family, giving them an opportunity to feel heard.
Having done these courses for youth groups, adults in recovery, with people seeking employment amongst others we are now excited to offer this just for those aged 55+.
Our aim is to create a safe, social group. This course is offered at a subsidised rate of just £60 for 9 weeks. They are happy to offer a payment plan to help those on lower incomes to help spread the cost.
