Learning at your Library...

North Yorkshire Libraries understand that if people want to develop  their skills, improve their employment prospects or just learn for fun, formal  courses aren’t for everyone. Learning is something we all do throughout our lives and can be something we dip into and do at our own pace, without the pressure of exams and accreditation. Libraries offer opportunities to help you on your informal learning journey.

All North Yorkshire’s libraries are registered UK-online centres, providing access to a range of e-learning courses designed to make getting on-line easier. They also offer other resources to help support your learning including access to computers, free Wi-Fi, IT taster sessions, excellent reference material, local and family history resources, a place to study, volunteering opportunities to help develop your skills and impartial support and guidance from trained staff and volunteers. We also have lots of books that you can borrow for free!
